MY S14a

Just a quick post to show stages the 200 has gone through in the past year.

Bought it like this, completely standard.

Fitted a engine back exhaust system and apexi induction, put it on the dyno to achieve this

Then lowered

Then set the car up at stage 1a, this should have been running around 280-300hp and similar torque, never dyno'd the car but was enough to hold its own and blow away a new focus RS coming home from trax on the M1 so was happy with that. Car looked like this

Now for the sad bit :(
Lost compression across all 4 cylinders, removed head thinking was gonna be gasket but found the head to be cracked all over the shot.
So what better time for a rebuild

And thats where i am with the car, have ordered CP pistons, Eagle rods, ACL bearings from the states and have had an email today saying that they are at darford fed ex sorting office and will have them monday :) so can then get the block machined to suit pistons.

Am aiming at building 400hp at the fly for time being, then maybe next year go for a topmount and closer to 500hp 8-)

Comments Welcome please peeps

Im going for a minimum of 400 for time being, then more next winter when i'll change to a top mount gt3071r :)

A friend of mine owns a tuning garage and when i asked him about it he said the most i'll prob be able to run is about 20psi with a think HG, and im building it for alot more of a kick up the arse than 20psi, christ i ran 20psi in my punto gt lol

looking good mate - what turbo you running atm - 2871r .86? that will make 400 atf all day long but will come on to full boost later than the .64 which would be good for a solid 390 with quick spool.....

ah cool - todds14a....thought i recognised the name. from sxoc right? ;)
wish i had a pfc - wanted the d-jet but went for a jez custom map instead at the time as a cheaper option, pfc would of probably been cheaper long term though. fitted the nismo 740's, tomei poncams and springs, 1.8mm mhg and ras kit on a .64 2871r.......this makes 357hp and 345Ib/ft @1.35 bar so you should be pissing 400 at high boost once its run in and mapped :) best of luck with it, unsure of whether to forge mine when it needs it or go over to the darkside with ls2.....

iirc they are 256 sofies. idle is perfect when cold/fast idle and settles into a slight dip at warm idle, just stretches out the powerband up to redline ;) you'll make more power on 260's i'd certainly think but like all things will be a compromise.....probably lose some low down driveability but on a .86 or 3071r thats gonna be apparent anyway :)

Tell me about it, but its a bug lol. That's it now until i clear some more credit card, then i will get the block down to the machinest for all the work to be done. Contemplating getting them to put the bottom end together too. I am more than capable but would make sense whilst they have it to do it. I'll ask how much extra they want to build the bottom end
